There is currently a high level of interest in electricity generation from wind power.

If a farmer has a wind turbine up to 250 kW they can now receive 4 Northern Ireland Renewable Obligation Certificates (NIROCs) for every 1,000 kW of electricity generated.

As NIE Energy currently pays about £40 per NIROC, this has the potential to give a good income return for landowners with a suitable site.

In response to demand Donegal Farm Relief are now providing to farmers and landowners a wind energy one-stop shop.
